The Announcements function on the Object Definitions tab of the Admin Page allows Administrators to post messages on the home page of the Portal.


Availability

Users with any of the following Permissions may manage Announcements:

Visibility in iSite

Announcements are the first item shown on the Dashboard of the Portal Home Page, helpful for alerting team members of important news.

Announcements Maintenance Functions

The following functions are available when performing Announcements Maintenance



Properties of an Announcement

An Announcement has the following properties:


  • Title
  • Body
  • Start Date
  • End Date
  • Urgency


The Announcements List

The Announcements List displays the Announcements that have been created.  The list will display the following information:


  • Title
  • Start Date
  • End Date
  • Urgency

How to Use the Announcements List

  1. Click on the Title in the list whose information you would like to edit.


Toolbar Functions

The Toolbar appears at the top of the Action Items List. It consists of the following functions:


  • Add New Record
    • Allows the creation of a new Announcement.
  • Delete Selected Records...
    • Deletes the selected Announcements.  A confirmation message will appear before deletion.


How to Add a New Action Item

  1. Click the Add New Item button in the toolbar.
  2. Fill in the appropriate information in the Properties section of the page.
  3. Click the OK button to create the new Action Item or click the Cancel button to abort the creation process.

How to Edit an Existing Announcement

  1. In the Announcements List, select the record to be edited by clicking the Title.
  2. Fill in the appropriate information in the Properties section of the page.
  3. Click the Create Announcement button to update the Announcement or click the Cancel button to abort the editing process.


Deleting Announcements

Deleting an Announcement is a permanent change and cannot be reversed


How to Delete an Announcement

  1. In the Announcements List, select the Announcement to be deleted by clicking the Title.
  2. In the Announcement Maintenance page, click the Delete this Record... button in the toolbar.
  3. In the confirmation message pop-up, click the Update Announcement button to permanently delete the selected Announcement or click the Cancel button to abort the deletion process.


The selected Announcement will be permanently deleted from iSite.


How to Delete Multiple Announcements

  1. In the Announcements List, click the check box next to each record that you want to delete.
  2. Click the Delete Selected Items... button in the toolbar.
  3. In the confirmation message pop-up, click the OK button to permanently delete the selected Announcements or click the Cancel button to abort the deletion process.


The selected Announcement will be permanently deleted from iSite.
