The Custom Attributes function on the Object Definitions tab of the Admin Page is available for Portal Administrators to manage iSite Custom Attributes.  Administrators can add new Custom Attributes, edit existing Custom Attributes and delete Custom Attributes.

Users with any of the following Permissions may manage Custom Attributes:

What is a Custom Attribute?

A Custom Attribute allows you to define additional properties of objects within iSite.  By default, iSite provides a basic set of properties to define objects.  However, it is likely that there will be a need to further define these objects with properties that are unique to the contract or agency.  In iSite, you can do this by defining Custom Attributes and associating them with those objects.

The Custom Attributes List

The Custom Attributes list displays the Custom Attributes that are configured and assigned to the iSite License.  The list will display the following information:


  • Custom Attribute Name
  • Display Name
  • Data Type
  • Object Type


How to Use the Custom Attributes List

  1. Click on the Custom Attribute Name in the list whose information you would like to edit.


Filtering the Custom Attributes List

  1. To narrow the list results, enter a value in the Search box on the Toolbar then click the icon or press the Enter key. 
  2. Click the icon in the Search box to remove the filter.


How to Add a New Custom Attributes

  1. Click the Add New Attribute button in the toolbar.
  2. Fill in the appropriate information in the Attribute Name and Type section of the page.
  3. Fill in the appropriate information in the Optional Settings for Attribute section of the page.
  4. Click the Save Custom Attribute button to create the new record, Save and Add Another button to save and create an additional Custom Attribute or click the Cancel button to abort the creation process.


How to Edit an Existing Custom Attributes

  1. In the Custom Attributes List, select the record to be edited by clicking the Custom Attribute Name.
  2. Fill in the appropriate information in the Attribute Name and Type section of the page.
  3. Fill in the appropriate information in the Optional Settings for Attribute section of the page.
  4. Click the Save Custom Attribute button to update the record or click the Cancel button to abort the editing process.


Deleting Custom Attributes

Deleting a Custom Attribute is a permanent change and cannot be reversed.  Proceed with caution.


How to Delete a Custom Attribute

  1. In the Custom Attributes List, select the record to be deleted by clicking the Custom Attribute Name.
  2. In the Custom Attribute Maintenance page, click the Delete this Attribute... button in the toolbar.
  3. In the confirmation message pop-up, click the OK button to permanently delete the selected record or click the Cancel button to abort the deletion process.


The selected Custom Attribute will be permanently deleted from iSite.


How to Delete Multiple Custom Attributes

  1. In the Custom Attributes List, click the check box next to each record that you want to delete.
  2. Click the Delete Attributes... button in the toolbar.
  3. In the confirmation message pop-up, click the OK button to permanently delete the selected records or click the Cancel button to abort the deletion process.


The selected Custom Attributes will be permanently deleted from iSite.
