The Hour Types function on the Timekeeping Modules Settings page of the Admin > Settings Page is available to manage the Hour Types that are used with the Timekeeping Module functions.  Administrators can add new Hour Types, edit existing Hour Types and delete Hour Types.  


Availability

Only users with the Portal Administrator, Timekeeping Administrator or Manage Timekeeping Settings permission will have access to this function.

Hour Type Maintenance Functions

The following functions are available when performing Hour Type Maintenance



Properties of a Hour Type

An Hour Type has the following properties:


  • Hour Type Name
  • Hour Type Short Name
  • Active Status
  • Sort Group
  • Assigned Users

The Hour Types List

The Hour Types list displays the Hour Types that are configured and assigned to the iSite License.  The list will display the following information:


  • Hour Type Name
  • Hour Type Short Name
  • Active Status
  • Last Updated


The Hour Types List is sorted by the Sort Group property and then the Hour Type Name.


How to Use the Hour Types List

  1. Click on the Hour Type Name in the list whose information you would like to edit.

How to Add an Hour Type

  1. Click the Add New Hour Type button in the toolbar.
  2. Fill in the appropriate information in the Properties section of the page.
    1. The Abbreviation is used in Column Headers on Reports and Timesheet Entry
  3. Click the Create Hour Type button to create the new record or click the Cancel button to abort the creation process.


How to Edit an Existing Hour Type

  1. In the Hour Types List, select the record to be edited by clicking the Hour Type Name.
  2. Fill in the appropriate information in the Properties section of the page.

  3. Click the Update Hour Type button to update the record or click the Cancel button to abort the editing process.


How to Assign Users to an Existing Hour Type

  1. In the Hour Types List, select the record to be edited by clicking the Hour Type Name.
  2. Click the Assign Users button on the toolbar.
  3. Select one or more Users from the User List that you want to assign the Hour Type to.
  4. Click the Save button to assign the selected Users or click the Cancel button to abort the editing process.

Deleting Hour Types

Deleting an Hour Type is a permanent change and cannot be reversed.  Proceed with caution.


How to Delete an Hour Type

  1. In the Hour Types List, select the record to be deleted by clicking the Hour Type Name.
  2. In the Hour Type Maintenance page, click the Delete this Hour Type... button in the toolbar.
  3. In the confirmation message pop-up, click the OK button to permanently delete the selected record or click the Cancel button to abort the deletion process.


The selected Hour Type will be permanently deleted from iSite.


How to Delete Multiple Hour Types

  1. In the Hour Types List, click the check box next to each record that you want to delete.
  2. Click the Delete Hour Types... button in the toolbar.
  3. In the confirmation message pop-up, click the OK button to permanently delete the selected records or click the Cancel button to abort the deletion process.


The selected Hour Types will be permanently deleted from iSite.
